about me |
|
I am a first generation marine scientist from Brazil. Since my undergrad research, I have been applying molecular techinques for biomonitoring and conservation of marine fishes. My academic background is mainly on environmental DNA/RNA, microbiome, population genomics, and phylogeography. I started my academic journey studying sharks and rays, so I developed a great passion for this group. Although most of my research now is focusing on coral reef fishes, I still continue to work with elasmobranchs through collaborations. My long term plan is to obtain experience in a diverse set of molecular tools, mainly non-invasive, for supporting management and conservation of marine species.
